Care Home - 9 Nights of the Navratri

India is a country of several religions and all religions have their own festivals. The navaratri is going on these days. It comes twice a year; in March- April and September-October. Is ia a festival of nine nights. The mother Goddess is being worshiped in this festival. The images of maa are visible in every house. The devotees offer fruits and flowers to the goddess along with singing the prayers and bhajans.  Some also do fats of nine days. It is a way to ask for forgiveness of bad things that a person done in this life. The goddess Saraswati (education) and Laxmi (wealth and prosperity) are also worshiped.

On last day nine young girls who have not reached the stage of puberty, are worshipped. Each of these symbolizes as nine forms of Goddess Durga. The feet of them are washed to show respect to Goddess. The girls are offered food, money and new clothes as a gift from the devotees.

 

The prayer and meditation makes us healthy by mind and the healthy body lies in healthy mind. The care home inspires their clients to do meditation regularly. In foreign countries also the seniors are very much influenced with yoga. They do it as a meditation to stay healthy and peacefully.
